Eva Wingdale and her owl classmates are on a camping trip to the other side of the forest, where one of the assignments is to make useful inventions--but Eva and Lucy become totally distracted by the legend of Nellie Wingdale, founder of Treetopolis and her buried treasure, and never finish their project.

Eva Wingdale and her class are excited about their trip to Poppy's Pumpkin Farm, where every year, there is one very large, extra special, thank-you pumpkin. But on the second day of the visit, the owls find that the Thank-you Pumpkin has gone missing and the farm animals are in an uproar--so Eva and the other owls turn detective to solve the mystery of the missing pumpkin.

Eva's class is putting on a play, Snowy White and the seven owlets, but Eva is a little disappointed when she is cast as the Magic Mirror (and Snowy White's understudy). The owl students are making all the sets, props, and costumes, and rehearsal is a little chaotic--but the play is going well until Snowy White hurts her leg and Eva has to fill in for real.

When Eva hurts her wing, she visits the hospital and meets a new friend, Rocco, who has a broken leg--but wearing a sling for a week prevents her from writing in her diary, and she turns to her friends and family in order to keep it up to date.

When Eva Wingdale sees something large and white flying above her she is convinced that it is a ghost, although most of the other owls just laugh at her--until something large and heavy and white lands on the school roof.

Greta the goblin princess is bored, but when unicorns Bo and Sunny try to cheer her up by using their powers to make her queen (for a day), they discover just how much trouble a bored--and spoiled--goblin princess can cause for everyone around her.
