Franz Massopust, Jr., was born 27 May 1828 in Pollitschney (Polecný), a village located just south of the industrial city of Gablonz, part of North Central Bohemia. He was baptized 7 November 1828. His father was Franz Massopust and his mother Katherina Hübner. Franz married Ernestine Klingbeil on 21 November 1855 in Traverse de Sioux, Nicollet County, Minnesota. He died in 1865 at the age of 36.
